When & why do you need MEA Attestation?

Your Personal certificates, Educational certificates and Commercial documents require attestation by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), New Delhi after its authentication from State Home Department, State Human Resource Development Department (HRD) and State Chamber of Commerce is complete. When an individual is travelling to a foreign county for a long term visit purpose like Spouse Migration Visa, Marriage, Student Visa, Permanent Migration, Job / Work visa, Dependent Visa, Business setup, changing the Sponsorship or Changing the Resident Visa, Changing the profession and transferring a Job, Changing the designation and applying for family visa and parents, School admission PCC in foreign countries, Changing the designation for family status and higher salary, Change of visa status in abroad, Attending an interview and writing exam and MOH Exams etc.

What is the difference between Apostille and General Attestation Services?

General Attestation and Apostille both are processes for legalization of documents. General Attestation is required for countries which are not a part of the Hague Convention. For all Hague Convention member countries, Apostille is acceptable.

What is the process for MEA Attestation services in India?

In India, the process of Attestation and Apostille is elaborate. A document can be submitted for MEA General and Apostille attestation after it is verified and approved by the State Home Department (SHD) / State Human Resource Department (SHRD)/ State Chamber of commerce as per the classification of documents between personal, educational or commercial. More than 80% of MEA General and Apostille attestation is done after attested from the Sub-Divisional MagistraState, The State Home Department of NCT of Delhi.
