Process for State Human Resource Development (HRD) Attestation

Original document to be attested / legalized is authenticated by the designated authorities of the State/Union Territory from where the document has been issued. While an attestation process is followed various steps come into play:

Step 1 – In case the document is educational; Human Resource Development (HRD) Department of the concerned state authenticates the documents & certificates.

Step 2:- On the Basis of the attestation / legalization done by Human Resource Development (HRD) Department, MEA attests / legalizes the documents & certificates by marking it with a MEA stamp and signature.

Step 3:- Once the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi (MEA) attests / legalizes the documents & certificates, Embassy / Consulate of the host country attests / legalizes the original documents & certificates.

It is most important to note that for all attestation processes, documents & certificates required are original. True copies & photocopy of the documents & certificates can’t be attested / legalized.
